What's the latest on Philips' CPAP replacements?

Philips recalled millions of CPAP and BiPAP machines due to foam degradation, and the process has dragged on for years. The company says 99% of sleep therapy device registrations have been remediated, but some patients are still waiting. If you've been affected, how has the process gone for you?

Philips says they've remediated nearly all sleep therapy device registrations, but ventilator replacements are still ongoing.

That's an important distinction to make, thank you. It feels like they're splitting hairs to make the numbers look better. This whole situation is still as clear as mud for the people left waiting. Are you waiting on a ventilator or 1 of the other machines?

Their public relations has been a masterclass in obfuscation. I was one of the lucky ones with a BiPAP that got replaced last year but I'm still keeping tabs on the situation for friends who are in the ventilator queue. It's a whole different ball game for them.

I can relate, my uncle had a similar experience with his BiPAP. He signed up pretty early but ended up waiting nearly a year for a replacement. And then there's a family friend who relies on a ventilator and is still in limbo. It's frustrating to see how Philips phrase those updates, it feels like trying to catch smoke, there's always some technical detail or ambiguous statistic thrown in. It's hard to watch people being left in the dark while the company manages its image. I hope your friends get taken care of soon too

It's reassuring to hear that we're all observing the same communication patterns from the company. 'Masterclass in obfuscation' and 'trying to catch smoke' perfectly describe this situation.
